Back To The Beginning

We’ve had a whirlwind of a week, wrapping, packing, and shipping out all the sale orders. They're now on their way to you! We can't wait to see all your fantastic creations shared in our Facebook group. If you haven't joined yet, make sure to hop in: Join Our Facebook Group.

Jess is jetting off on holiday today (not that I'm jealous or anything). With her leaving us today, for 10 days, we've been extra busy catching up on orders and getting everything organised. I’m no where near as quick with the admin or posting as she is so please be patient with me!

Looking at all the piles of sales orders being wrapped and packed it got me thinking how far Corinne and John have come. From starting in their spare bedroom making custom décor, to now with their own website, a unit and 2 employees!

So, I thought let’s quiz them a little.

Where Did It All Begin?

It started out as a creative outlet, designing and creating items like custom cushions, glass baubles, etching, and decorations. A few customised costumes for Halloween, some cosplay. They struggled to find exactly what they were looking for in the cosplay department, so they decided to try making it themselves.

Thus, the 3D printer arrived.

After the first year of only managing to produce many big bags of plastic spaghetti (as John likes to call it), and much trial and error, they got the printer up and running. Inspiring more and more detailed projects.

This led to the laser.

Which lead to family and friends seeing their makes and wanting to have something designed for themselves (I personally benefitted from this a few times). Eventually, they decided to develop the hobby into a side business, and it grew from there.

Overtime, there were some bumps that instigated changes, like the laser setting on fire in their spare bedroom, which prompted the change to a bigger laser and consequently their first unit.

What Was The First Official Products?

The first products were some laser cut beer mats. Our first silicone mould was the “They See Me Rollin’” dice tray. Initially, most products were designed for resin. Through trial and error, and lots of research, Corinne and John adapted their designs to be compatible with multiple mediums.

Wax, Resin And Food-Safe Silicone Moulds: What’s The Difference?

Just to StampOut any confusion - in short? Nothing.

All our moulds can be used for all of the above - wax, resin, or food. Our silicone is food-safe and can withstand various temperatures (check out Blog 2 for more details). While some moulds might be a bit thin for wax, most of our designs are versatile for multi-medium use.

What Products Do We Offer?

We still offer a variety of products, not just the silicone moulds themselves, including:

  • Acrylic housing
  • Glitter
  • Fragrance oils
  • Baking stencils
  • Rapeseed & coconut wax

Corinne has mentioned she would like to bring back some of the more decoration type products that started it all back in 2018. Keep an eye out for some of those returning!

We have some new ideas in the works that require a bit of research and development. I might have even hinted at one of them in this blog post. Can you guess what it is?

Any products you’d like to see in the future?

As always, don’t forget to keep me updated with all your new makes and any questions feel free to voice them in our Facebook group! I love to hear from you all!
