Silicone Mould Safe Usage
Thank you for choosing our food-safe silicone moulds. Our moulds are designed to operate between -5°C to 220°C, making them versatile for a range of culinary and crafting applications. Please read the following safety and care instructions carefully to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your moulds.
General Safety Information
Temperature Limits: Ensure the moulds are used within the specified temperature range. Exposure to temperatures beyond -5°C to 220°C may damage the mould or compromise its safety.
Food Contact Safety: These moulds are made from food-grade silicone and are safe for use with food products. Wash thoroughly before the first use and between uses to maintain hygiene.
Avoid Contamination: Do not use the same moulds for both food and non-food applications to prevent cross-contamination.
Care and Maintenance Instructions
Storage:
-
Store your moulds in a cool, dry area, laid flat and away from direct sunlight.
-
Stacking or storing them in a non-flat position may cause permanent deformation over time.
Cleaning:
-
Wash only with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
-
Do not scrub or use abrasive materials, as these can damage the mould’s surface.
-
Avoid cleaning in dishwashers, as the high temperatures and detergents may degrade the silicone.
Handling:
-
Avoid touching the interior of the mould unless your hands are wet or under running water. Oils from your skin can leave marks on the shiny surfaces in the centre of some of the moulds.
-
Be careful not to overstretch the silicone when demoulding. Excessive force can warp the mould and affect its performance.
Usage Tips:
-
When using resin, always apply a mould release agent to prolong the life of the mould and facilitate easier removal of the cast.
-
Avoid brushing mica powders directly into the mould, as this can dull its shine.
-
Inks and dyes may permanently discolor the mould if applied directly.
Preparation for Use:
-
Wash the mould thoroughly with soap and water before its first use to remove any residue from the manufacturing proces.
Compliance with General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR)
To comply with EU and Northern Ireland’s General Product Safety Regulations:
-
Ensure proper usage within the temperature limits specified.
-
Use the moulds only for their intended purposes (e.g., food preparation, resin casting, etc.).
-
Inspect the moulds periodically for signs of wear, such as cracks or loss of flexibility. Discontinue use if the moulds appear damaged.
-
Keep moulds out of reach of children unless under adult supervision, especially when using for non-food applications.
